Council eyes raising sales tax
Hartselle residents may soon receive a survey asking if they would support a 1-cent sales tax increase.
Hartselle's City Council has formulated a $29 million capital improvement plan. Officials originally pushed for a property tax increase to foot the bill, but apparently changed their minds after a public hearing on the topic.
A majority of those attending the meeting said they would not support a property tax increase.
If a majority of surveyed residents say they will support the increase, the matter could be put to a city-wide vote.

what is the price for a little league victory.last nite in the 11 and 12 (texas and ole miss and texas and georgia) baseball games one team had to play two games in the same day due to rain.the rules said if your pitcher pitch more than two innings in the first game you cannot pitch in sconed game. well the coach went to the umpire and ask him would it be ok to pitch his pitcher, (who had pitch three innings in the first game)if he could pitch in the second game the umpire said it would be ok. my question is why have rules if you don’t go by them (just do away with the rule book and let the umpire make the decision. and also why didn’t the coach on the other team protest the rule.the bottom line is you are cheating the boys.
