Bonnie Brock

Bonnie Brock, of Glendale, Ariz. died January 22, 2011, at Sherman Home Hospice of the Valley Facility in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was born September 1, 1948, in Walker County to Benjamin F. and Tessie Brock.

Ms. Brock moved to Ariz. 40 years ago, working as a computer specialist at Ft. Huachuca until her retirement in 2003. After her retirement, she lived in Tucson and Phoenix, supporting and promoting the Ariz. folk music culture and volunteering at the Arizona Folklore Preserve in Ramsay Canyon. She worked diligently to assure the survival of the music she loved. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Brock and a sister, Katie Ladd.

She is survived by her mother; her brother James Brock and wife Maudie; her sister, Brenda Close and husband Tom; a nephew, Raymond Close; and nieces Teresa Paitsel, Deborah Blackwood and Beth Helmick.

A ‘Celebration of Life’ memorial will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Arizona Folklore Preserve or to cancer research.
