Funeral for Bertie Velma Strickland, 76, of Somerville was Sunday, March 13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.C. Borden officiating.
Burial was in Cheatham Cemetery.
Mrs. Strickland died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at her daughter’s residence. She was born May 24, 1934, in Lawrence County to Luther Reed and Dora Borden Reed. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a son, Luther David Strickland of Somerville; a daughter, Shirley Kay Franks and husband Jimmy of Decatur; a sister, Artie Strickland and husband Randy of Trinity; three grandchildren, J.D. Franks, Collin Franks and Justin Strickland; and a great-grandchild, Gabi Franks.
Pallbearers were Justin Strickland, Wade Strickland, Jerry Tucker, David Tucker and Billy Cagle.
