John C. ‘Big John’ Lee

Funeral for John C. “Big John” Lee, 80, of Priceville will be Fri., Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Tepper and Winnie Tepper officiating.

Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thur., Aug. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Lee died Tue., Aug. 9, 2011, at his Guntersville residence. He was born Jan. 9, 1931, in Morgan County to Leonard and Euline Halbrooks Lee. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #15. He retired from Wolverine Tube after 39 1/2 years, was owner of Southeastern Security and an avid pet lover.

He is survived by his wife Methilda Lee of Priceville;  a son, John C. Lee Jr. of Somerville; four daughters, Teresa Lee of Priceville, Belinda Lee of Hartselle, Melody Hutt of Huntsville and Amber Lee of Franklin, Tenn.; two brothers, Frank Lee and Charles Lee, both of Decatur; a sister, Virginia Brenner of Hartselle; and four surviving grandchildren, Cory Dunaway, Justin Dunaway, J.C. Lane and Tiffany Lee.

Pallbearers will be Cory Dunaway, Justin Dunaway, J.C. Lane, Bayu Prakosa, Dave McCollum and Mike Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Canines for Veterans.”
