Man accused of having sex with 14-year-old

A 25-year-old man sits in jail after being indicted on charges of rape and sodomy by the Morgan County Grand Jury in August.

Corey Lamar Davis of 296 Spring Valley Road in Hartselle has been charged with second-degree rape and second-degree sodomy. He turned himself into Decatur Police on Thursday. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

On March 14, Decatur Police received a report that Davis had engaged in sexual intercourse multiple times with a 14-year-old girl, according to a press release.

The report was forwarded to the department’s Violent Crimes Unit and detective Todd Pinion was assigned the case. Pinion began an investigation and presented the case to the Morgan County Grand Jury on Aug. 9.

On Aug. 15, the grand jury returned an indictment for Corey Davis on the two charges.
