Ferns for a Cure benefit for National Cancer Society
As you well know cancer is a disease that affects many people. If it hasn’t affected your family then perhaps it has a neighbor or a close friend, and it has no age limit either. Once again, I am asking for your help with “Ferns for a Cure.” Starting March 24 and continuing through May 1 you may purchase ferns to benefit the National Cancer Society. Available will be Boston, Foxtail, Macho, Asparagus, Kimberly and Queen at the following locations: Eddie Preuitt Ford, Hartselle, Fri., Sat., Mon.; and Carden’s Barber Shop. Decatur, Mon. and Sat. Please remember, all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
Christian love and sympathy is extended to the families of Gertrude Wray, Bob White, Josh Lambert and Erline Ballew.
Somerville Baptist Church’s S.W.A.P. (Seniors With A Purpose) enjoyed an outing recently. They visited the Arab Historic Village and afterwards ate lunch at the Ruth Mountain Bed and Breakfast. Those attending were Betty, Vona and Nicole Keeling, Christine Clemons, Nell Naylor, Nichole Naylor, Cecil and Judy Berry, Nathan and Javon Alldredge, Pete and Berta Wilson, Lou and Ann Heath, Charles and Evelene Teague, Marie Bartlett, Joy Pratt, David and Beth Lewis, Bill and Mary Montgomery, Lynn and Royce Goree, Dewain and Sandra Holmes, Joe and Tiny Hollis and Mel and Martha Groves. Everyone had a great time. A special thank you goes out to Dwain Holmes for driving the bus and his wife, Sandra, for planning the trip.
