Pool passes to go on sale May 7
Hartselle Park and Recreation will begin selling passes for the inaugural season of the new Hartselle Aquatics Center on May 7.
Park and Recreation Director Frank Miller said pool patrons would benefit from longer hours this summer as well.
“We’re going to open earlier and stay open later,” Miller said.
The pool will open at 10 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours will be from 1-6 p.m.
Swimming classes are scheduled each morning from 8-10 a.m. and beginning June 4, water aerobics will be held each morning from 7-8 a.m. Cost is $5 per visit and $25 per month.
Season passes are $100 per person, $150 for couples, $250 for a family of four and $50 for each additional family member. Miller said families must reside in the same household.
Daily admission prices are $10 for 13 and older, $8 for children 6-12, $5 for children 5 and under and $8 for senior citizens.
Miller also said there is a lower daily rate for those who visit the pool late in the day from 5-8 p.m. Adult prices are $8, children 6-12 are $5, children under 5 are $3 and senior citizens are $5.
Also when pool passes go on sale, Miller said customers can begin reserving the pool for parties through the season. Parties will be held from 8-10 p.m. each night except for Sunday, on which pool rental is available from 6-10 p.m.
On May 14, the city will also begin registration for swimming lessons. Fees are $45 for ages 5 and under and $50 for 6 and above. Sessions are from June 4-15, June 18-29, July 9-20 and July 23-Aug. 3.
Miller also added that the city is currently taking applications for lifeguards through the middle of April. For more information, contact Sparkman Civic Center at 256-773-2581.
