City needs better sign for parkPublished 6:42pm Wednesday, June 27, 2012
Hartselle is a strong community that provides wonderful parks and recreational fields for all ages. Our Sparkman Park is well kept and offers covered pavilions for birthdays, reunions, and other events. It has had many out-of-town guests come for championship playoffs over the years!
The park is an inviting area that needs one thing added to make it truly presentable to its guests. Sparkman Park needs an elegant entrance sign, similar to the one erected at E.A.R.T.H. Park. A sign with stacked stone, and its name chiseled in granite would be much more befitting! That’s not too much to ask, surely! Then that sad, green bedraggled wooden sign can be taken down and put to rest. Hartselle citizens and their children deserve a better-looking sign welcoming everyone to its great park!
I urge the Parks and Recreation Board to seriously consider this request!
