Funeral for Charlotte B. Young, 80, of Hartselle will be Sat., June 30, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., June 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Young died on Thur., June 28, 2012, at Falkville Health Care and Re. She was born May 29, 1932, in St. Elmo, Walker County, Ga., to Charles Francis Boyd and Alma Ruth (Wilson) Boyd. She was baptized into the Christian faith at the age of five years and graduated from Chattanooga Central High School in Tennessee in 1950. She earned her B.A. degree from Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton, Texas, and the master’s of education degree from Alabama A&M University in Normal.
She was a retired schoolteacher having taught in public schools in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Her most recent position being, as a first grade teacher at Hartselle’s, F.E. Burleson Elementary School. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church in Hartselle, where in past years, she taught adult Sunday School and children’s vacation Bible school.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R.H. “Jack” Young
Jr., a son, R.H. Young III “Jackie”; and two brothers, John Raymond and William Stephenson Boyd.
She is survived by a son, John M. Young and wife Beth Allison of Hartselle; a daughter, Sandra Carr and husband Jeffery of Parrish; two sisters, Willie Ruth Ethridge of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jacqueline Louise Boyd of Ringgold, Ga.; a surviving grandchild, Kelli Elizabeth Carr of Parrish; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be members of Southwest Baptist Church.
