Joel Heflin, right, of Priceville receives a Decatur police officer’s badge from Priceville police officer Herman Davis at a commissioning ceremony conducted in Decatur on June 28. Heflin was one of 17 police officer candidates who were sworn in at the conclusion of the ceremony.
