Three candidates qualify for Priceville council seats

Three persons had qualified for two positions on the Priceville town council as of 11 a.m. today.

They were incumbent Tommy Perry, council place #4; and Jerry Welch and Wayne Dunkin, both council place #3.

Both Welch and Dunkin, a former council member, are seeking the place being vacated by Sam Heflin, who is running against Mayor Melvin Duran.

Qualifying will continue at City Clerk Kelly Dean’s office until 5 p.m. on July 17. Office hours at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
