Funeral for Pauline (Polly) Blackwood McFarlen, 91, of Danville will be Sun., July 8, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Voss and Nicky Pressnell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sun., July 8, 2012, from 12:30-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McFarlen died on Fri., July 6, 2012, at her residence. She was born July 31, 1920, in Lawrence County to James William Burney and Mary Anna Kidd Burney. Polly graduated from Hatton High School. She married Cleve Blackwood in 1944 and raised three children. Mr. Blackwood died at 37 years of age. Polly later married Zeb McFarlen and enjoyed a full life with him and his lovely family. She was a homemaker, an avid gardner, and spent many hours doing hand embroidered gifts for family,community friends, and her church family. Her great love for her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her so much enjoyment. She was a member of Neel Church of Christ. Polly was an active member of the Neel Nutrition Center, where she enjoyed time with friends and playing games.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cleve Blackwood, and her second husband, Zebedee McFarlen.

She is survived by a son, James Clayton Blackwood and wife Sheila; two daughters, Shelby Ann Glenn and husband Jim and Mary Joan Walker and husbandGary; seven surviving grandchildren, Jim Glenn, Jr., Robin McCutcheon and husband Mike, Brett Blackwood and wife Paige, Marty Blackwood and wife Dena, Justin Blackwood and wife Yvonne, Wendy Foster and husband Daryl and Wesley Walker; 11 greatg-grandchildren, Alex Glenn, Johnston McCutcheon, Polly Glenn, Elizabeth McCutcheon, Anna Blackwood, Will Blackwood, Ben Foster, John Blackwood, Drew Foster, Tanner Blackwood and Ty Blackwood; a stepson, Marvin McFarlen and wife Lisa; five stepdaughters, Faye Sparkman, Lorene Jones, and husband Malcolm, Joann Moebes and husband Al, Margaret Atchley and husband Paul and Frances Gray and husband Mark; 14 step-grandchildren; 26 step-great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-great-grandchildren.
