Pine Street home burnedPublished 12:25pm Wednesday, October 3, 2012
Hartselle Fire & Rescue conducted a controlled house burn and training exercise at 503 Pine St. on Monday afternoon after the six-room frame house was condemned by action of the Hartselle City Council.
An engine company and eight firefighters were involved in the operation. Water from five fire hoses was used to limit the spread of heat from the blaze and protect houses on both sides and a large pecan tree at the back of the house. Three of the firefighters entered the burning house with a hose after it became filled with black smoke and conducted drills for about 10 minutes. Photos show firefighters at work before and during the burn.
