Sparkman, however, asked chief financial officer Sarita Tapscott the same question. She said the school system would have to use some capital improvement funds for the new high school, but that amount had not yet been determined.
Don Pettus, who has three granddaughters who are coming up in the softball program, said he felt the girls shouldn’t have to worry about transportation between campuses just for practice.
“If you can’t make a decision about that, maybe you ought to put your names on a resignation,” he said.
Baylee Holt, a Hartselle all-state softball player, pleaded with the board to remember them.
“I just ask you to do the best thing for us,” Holt said.
