HHS sets homecoming activities

Hartselle High School will celebrate homecoming with a week of fun-filled activities Oct. 15-19.

Parents, alumni and friends are invited to attend. Proceeds collected during the observance will be used to support PTSO projects throughout the school year.

A homecoming kickoff event is planned for Mon., Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Pettey Center. Homecoming maids and king candidates will be presented with escorts, class skits will be performed, a homecoming court will be announced and commemorative programs will be sold. Admission will be $3.

On Tues., Oct. 16, work on homecoming floats will get under way and continue through Thurs., Oct. 18. A Battle of the Classes will be staged at J.C. Pettey Center at 9:30 a.m. Admission will be $3. At 5 p.m. the same day, powder puff football games will be played in the stadium with each class sponsoring a team. Admission is $3

Lawn decorations will be judged at the stadium on Friday, Oct. 17, at 8 a.m., followed at 2:30 p.m. by a pep rally in the Pettey Center. At this time the homecoming king will be announced and crowned.

Highlighting the event will be a football game in J.P. Cain Stadium featuring the Hartselle Tigers and the East Limestone Indians. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

A homecoming dance will follow in the Pettey Center as a fundraiser for Hartselle’s Relay For Life. Admission is $5 each.

A Hartselle Alumni Membership Association drive is being conducted as a part of the celebration. The membership fee is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Currently, a special VIP tour of the new high school is being offered with each new membership. To enroll, send check to Hartselle Alumni Association, P.O.
