Brewer at Scottsboro game notes

Series: Scottsboro leads 2-0

Last Meeting: Wildcats won 38-6 in 1991

Losing streak is over: The thing that Brewer fans had been waiting for came after a long wait. They won their first game since beating Priceville to end the 2010 season. It was also the first time Brewer scored 40 or more points since that game. That was also Brewer’s first win over a 5A opponent since a 35-19 win over Curry in 2010.

Opportunity for win streak?: After a win over Columbia, can Brewer win again this week. They are facing a winless Scottsboro team that has only won four games since the beginning of the 2009 season. If Brewer can overcome the satisfaction of winning their first game since losing 15 straight, the Patriots can turn that losing streak into a winning streak.

Welcome back Pritchett: Brewer quarterback Weston Pritchett started his first game since going down with an injury earlier this season, and it made an impact. With him out, the Patriots failed to score each of the last two weeks, but with him back, the Patriots put up 40 points. Once his two-point conversion pass to Nicholas Humphries gave Brewer its first lead of the season, the Patriots never relinquished it.

Morrow’s 4-TD night: T.J. Morrow had an outstanding game for the Patriots last week. He scored four touchdowns to help put the game out of reach.
