Reading for the record

Falkville Senior Clay Austill reads  to second graders at Falkville Elementary School in the effort to help set a new world record.

Each fall  Jumpstart’s Read for the Record program attempts to break the World Record for the most people reading the same book on the same day.

The book this year was  “Ladybug Girl” and the “Bug Squad”  by David Soman and Jacky Davis.    Falkville High School students  read to  elementary classes during the day to participate in the program.  Pictured  listening are students in Mrs. Katie Sparkman’s second grade class.
