Tail light violation leads to marijuana discovery
A tail light violation for a Clanton man turned into charges of marijuana possession following a traffic stop on U.S. 31 in Hartselle Sunday.
Jason Dewayne Liveoak, 32, of Clanton was charged him with unlawfulpossession of marijuana 1st degree. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
Sgt. Kel Roberts stopped a vehicle on U.S. 31 South for a tail light violation. Upon verbal consent to search the vehicle, the officer and Morgan County Drug Task Force agents discovered a large amount of marijuana, more than $4,000 in U.S. currency and a 45 caliber handgun.
Agents took custody of the evidence and impounded the vehicle.
