Mini-TRC wraps up with success

The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce recently wrapped up it’s first Mini Total Resource Campaign (TRC) raising more than $40,000 cash and trades for projects of the chamber. The “South of the Border Campaign” kicked off in July and ran for six weeks funding events through the rest of 2012.

This event marked the beginning of an annual TRC Campaign. A TRC markets sponsorships for the Chamber’s programs, events, publications and electronic media.

About 20 volunteers, including Chamber Board of Directors and Chamber staff, attended weekly reward luncheons to celebrate their successes. Cash money was awarded to the volunteers each week for sales made.

Volunteer Danny Baker, account manager with A-Z Office Resource, Inc., was the top sales person signing contracts totaling more than $5,800 in

cash sales. His team – “Dinero Loco” – raised more than $10,000 total cash. The team

was headed by Kathy Goodwin of Decatur Morgan Hospital – Parkway Campus. Other team players included Randy Garrison.

Coming in second place for sales were Lisa Pitman of Decatur Morgan Hospital, Decatur Campus, and Angela Hale, owner of A Marketing Cafe Inc. They called themselves the “Sassy Sombreros” with $9,800 in total cash sales.

The “Hot Tamales” consisted of Jenny Stephenson, owner of Jenny’s Boarding Kennels & Doggie Daycare; Danielle Gibson, agent with Cotton States Insurance; Melanie Burdick, Burdick Tax Accounting; Jennifer Hill, The Courier Journal, Janice Taylor of RBC Bank; and Landis Griffin of Habitat ReStore. Combined sales were over $5,000.

The Chamber Board of Directors raised more than $3,700 in cash for TRC. Those who participated included Mark Waters, chair, Ben Peck, Freda Thompson, Doug Chapman and Ken Doss.

Christina Fowler of Charter Business, Zac Richardson of Regions Banks and Lindsay Case of Apple Lane Farms were the team players for the Sellin’ Siesta Sombreros. Their combined sales were $3,000.

These sales figures include only cash sales, according to Susan Hines, president of the Chamber. Several trades for Depot Days not included in the team numbers.

“We want to thank each of our sponsors,” Hines said. “We feel very blessed to have the support of our local businesses. Without them, the work we do at the Chamber would not be possible.”
