Easy delicious frostings

Cherry soda

1 bottle soda

1 small jar maraschino cherries, drained

Put 1/2 cup cherry juice and stir into the cola drink and put in 1 or 2 cherries in the glass.

 

Breakfast drink

1 cup chocolate ice cream

1 cup pineapple juice

Combine ice cream and juice and stir until ice cream is melted.

 

Dill cucumbers

1/2 cup vinegar

2 tablespoons dried dill weed

3 cucumbers, peeled and sliced

Combine vinegar, sugar, dill weed, 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp. pepper. Pour mixture over cucumbers. Chill for 1 hour before serving.

 

Salad dressing

1 cup mini marshmallows

2 cups sour cream

1 tsp. mayonnaise

1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine ingredients. Let stand several hours or overnight in refrigerator. Mix well and serve on a fresh blueberry salad.

 

Salad muffins

1/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup cooking oil

3/4 cup milk

2 eggs

2 cups biscuit mix

Combine sugar, oil and milk in mixing bowl. Beat in eggs and biscuit mix and mix well. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full and put in muffin tin. Bake for 10 minutes or until light brown at 400 degrees.

 

Ginger ale salad

1 pkg. cream cheese

1 pkg. gelatin of choice

1 cup hot water

1 can crushed pineapple, drained

1 small bottle ginger ale

Dissolve gelatin and cream cheese in hot water. Cool and add pineapple, ginger ale and mix well. Refrigerate until congealed.

 

Orange frosting

6 tbsp. butter

2 tbsp. grated orange rind

1/4 cup orange juice

powdered sugar

1/4 tsp. salt

Melt butter, orange rind and salt. Mix juice into butter mixture with enough powdered sugar to make it of spreading consistency.

 

Cream cheese frosting

1 pkg cream cheese

1 to 2 tbsp milk

2 to 3 cups powdered sugar

Cream the cream cheese with milk, stir in powdered sugar. Spread on cupcakes or cake.

 

Beet salad

1 can whole beets, drained, reserve liquid

4 tsp. sugar

4 tsp. vinegar

Heat beet liquid with sugar and vinegar. Pour over beets and chill until ready to serve.

 

Cheddar topping

1 pkg. cream cheese

3 tablespoons milk

1 cup cheddar cheese, crumbled

Blend cream cheese until consistency of thick cream. In electric mixer, blend cheddar cheese and whip until firm.

 

Easy frosting

1-15.6 oz. can vanilla frosting

Food coloring of choice

Stir frosting and add food coloring. Spread on cupcakes or cake.

 

Chocolate covered prunes

1 small box pitted prunes

I can chocolate frosting

Spread prunes with frosting and serve on color party toothpicks

 

Cooked pears

2 or 3 pears

1 T brown sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Wash, peel and cut pears into small pieces, cook in sauce pan with water until tender. Drain water off and mash the pears, add sugar and cinnamon. Serve with Cool Whip.
