Community Calendar for Nov. 28

Nov. 28

Networking at Noon, a lunch networking event sponsored by the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, will be Nov. 28 from noon-1 p.m. at the Depot. The sponsor is Columbia Cottage. Charge is $5 fee for both chamber members and non-chamber members.

Nov. 29 and Dec. 1

College Street Players will have auditions for its upcoming production of Ronald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka,” based on the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1. Audtions for actors 10 and up will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hartselle Fine Arts Center on Nov. 29 while actors ages 7-9 will have auditions Dec. 1 from 9-11:30 a.m. Call backs, if needed, will be Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. Rehearsals start Jan. 3. Nov. 30

Mature Life, Parkway and Hartselle campus members, will have their Breakfast Club Nov. 30 at 8:30 a.m. at Marriott in Decatur.

Dec. 1

The Town of Priceville will have its annual Christmas Parade Sat., Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. Floats must be in line and complete by 1 p.m. for judging. The rain date will be Dec. 8. For more information, call 256-355-5476, ext. 0.

Dec. 2

There will be a Hartselle Quarterback Club Meeting in the field house Sun., Dec. 2, at 2 p.m.

The annual Christmas in the Park will be held Sun., Dec. 2., at 4 p.m. in Jack McCaig Park in Falkville. The Falkville High School band will be playing Christmas music, there will be caroling, lighting of the Christmas tree, cookies and hot chocolate. Everyone is invited.

Dec. 3

There Hartselle City Council will hold a special called meeting on Mon., Dec. 3 , at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium to address a special event permit for 1st United Methodist Church for Dec. 8-9.

The Hartselle High School IRC Christmas Concert will be held in the HHS Cafeteria Mon., Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.

Dec. 4

Hartselle Jr. High School’s Chorus will have its Christmas concert Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church.

Mature Life, Parkway and Hartselle campus members, will have their Christmas dinner Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Take time to enjoy the season. Dinner and entertainment, make reservations at 256-301-3324.

Bethel Baptist School invites the Hartselle community to a chili/chowder dinner, Christmas caroling, silent auction and the 1940s radio play “It’s A Wonderful Life” Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $3 for ages 3-12, and $5 for ages 13 and up. Purchase tickets at the school office by Nov. 29. Call 256-773-2154 for more information.

Dec. 5

Teams representing the 9 middle and junior high schools in Morgan County will travel to Cotaco Jr. High Wed., Dec. 5, to compete in the Morgan County Fall Scholars Bowl Tournament.

Dec. 6

Crestline Elementary will present its fifth grade Christmas program Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.

Dec. 8-9

Hartselle First United Methodist Church will have its annual Live Nativity Dec. 8-9. Pet the animals and hear the story of the birth of Christ. Dec. 13

The Hartselle Kiwanis Club and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will have the annual Hartselle Christmas Parade Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. The theme of the parade is Christmas melodies.

Hartselle High School’s Choir will have a Christmas concert Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

Morgan County Board of Education will have its regular meeting on Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the central office.

Barkley Bridge Elementary School’s Spelling Bee will be held on Thur., Dec. 13. Fourth and fifth graders will participate. The winner will go on to participate in the Morgan County Spelling Bee.

Dec. 14

Mature Life, Parkway and Hartselle campus members, will have their Breakfast Club Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m. at IHOP in Decatur.

Kick off the holidays with style and help support programs at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Get your tickets to the 28th Annual Gala now! The Gala will be held on Fri., Dec. 14, at Ingalls Harbor Pavilion in Decatur. Your black-tie evening begins with a cocktail hour and then a seated dinner. Dec. 20

The Hartselle Alumni Association will sponsor its second annual “College Breakfast” for HHS graduates currently enrolled in college on Dec. 20 at 9 a.m. in the high school library. Besides catching up with one another, students will complete a questionnaire giving HHS feedback on their preparation for college. That afternoon, the group will take our graduates on a tour of the new school.

Dec. 21

Barkley Bridge Elementary has announced its Christmas Party Schedule for Fri., Dec. 21. They are as follows: 8-8:45 a.m. – K and third grade parties, 9-9:45 a.m. – grades 2 and 4 parties, 10-10:45 a.m. – grades 1 and 5 parties. A show from the BB Glee Club will be at 10:50 a.m. in the gym. Parents of the performers in the show are invited to attend. This performance it not open to all parents.

School dismisses at 11:45 a.m. No extended day programs. Teachers stay for a professional development and collaboration day.

Dec. 28
