Dugger, Schmitt to wed Dec. 29

Alex and Stephanie Stewart of Hartselle and Troy and Linda Dugger of Decatur are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Lauren Dugger of Huntsville, to Preston Lee Schmitt of Huntsville, son of David and Teresa Schmitt of Huntsville.

The bride-elect’s grandparents are the late Allen Woodrow and Melba Dugger, both of Decatur.

She is a 2007 graduate of Hartselle High School and a graduate of the University of North Alabama with a bachelor of science degree in public relations and marketing. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration at Troy University and is employed with Dental Associates of North Alabama.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Warren Stanley Schmitt of Huntsville, the late Lorraine Schmitt and the late Elbert Austin Sr. and Shelby Jean Phillips of Huntsville.

He is a 2008 graduate of Huntsville High School and attended the University of North Alabama. He is employed with the City of Huntsville Police Department.

The couple will be married at Holmes St. United Methodist Church in Huntsville on Dec. 29, 2012, with a reception following at the Huntsville Museum of Art.
