Falkville picks up wins on the road

The Lady Devils (5-1), beat St. Bernard on Monday 52-24. Emily Mickelson led in scoring with 16 points, while Autumn Eddy had 15. The Lady Devils led all four quarters.

After halftime, leading 29-14, the depth of the bench was utilized. As demonstrated by the multiple player scoring efforts.

Sydney Moore had six points, Lizzie Davis, Amanda Muse and Patricia Kilgore all had four, Bailey Anders managed two and Ashley Hampton added a free throw.

The boys basketball team (1-3) picked up their first win against the Saints. Canaan Smith led in scoring for the Blue Devils with 15 points and five rebounds, while Travis Cole managed 13 points .

With an eight point advantage over St. Bernard during intermission, the Saints fought back in the second half, cutting the Blue Devil’s lead to five in the fourth quarter after a trey by the Saints. Falkville replied with several field goals, and a short time later the Saints found themselves in foul trouble.

The Blue Devils finished 54-43 over St. Bernard. Trevor Blackwood finished the game with 12 points, Aaron Estes added 10 and seven rebounds and Hayden Blevins managed four points and six rebounds.

The Blue Devils will host Decatur Heritage at Drake Gymnasium on Dec. 4.
