Landers receives three scholarships

Rachel Landers of Hartselle was recently recognized by the University of Montevallo as a recipient of Highest Honors, the Community College Dean’s Scholarship and the Community College Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.

Highest Honors are awarded to full time undergraduate students who have completed at least 12 semester hours at the University of Montevallo and whose cumulative grade point average at the university is 3.80 or better.

The Dean’s Scholarship is presented to qualified transfer students from Alabama two-year colleges who will live on campus.

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is presented to transfer students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa, the national two-year college honorary.

Landers was also recognized as an initiate into Sigma Tau Delta, the national English honor society, founded for the purpose of conferring distinction for high achievement in undergraduate, graduate and professional students in English language and literature.
