Funeral for Bennie C. Johnson, 80, of Vinemont, formerly of Somerville, will be Fri., Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Duke officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be Thur., Nov. 29, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson died Tues., Nov. 27, 2012, at his residence. He was born April 22, 1932, in Morgan County to Ruby Coleman Johnson and Willie Fern (Kyle) Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the Air Force from April 1951 until April 1955. He was self employed as a contractor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sharp Johnson; his stepson, Kenneth Ball; and two brothers, Thomas Eugene and Donald Coleman Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Freda Ball Johnson of Vinemont; two daughters, Anna Johnson Rink and husband Ed of Athens and Amy Johnson Anderson and husband Matt of White House, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Wanda Ball Echols and husband Wendall of Vinemont and Sonya Ball Jenkins and husband Gary of Danville; a brother, Jimmie Harold Johnson of Somerville; two sisters, Mary Nell Day of Somerville and Peggy Hardage, Laceys Spring; daughter-in-law, Dale Woodall Ball of Vinemont; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Blake Millwood, Stephen Millwood, Tommy Johnson and Shane Parker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Day and Gary Day.

In lieu of flowers; memorial donations may be made to Omega Hospice of Cullman.
