Brewer girls win big over Hartselle

Brewer High School’s Lady Patriots (12-0) raced to a 19-1 first quarter lead and went on to defeat Hartselle’s Lady Tigers 65-22 on their home court Friday night.

The Lady Patriots were up 42-10 at the half and 52-12 after three periods.

The Lady Tigers outscored their opponent 8-5 in the final frame against mostly Brewer reserves.

“They played about as good as they can play,” said Brewer girls head coach Ricky Allen. “We had two good days of practice during the week and it showed tonight.

“I was pleased that we were able to get all of our players in the game. When they work hard in practice, you always want them to get some planning time.”

Riley Northway led Brewer in scoring with 20 points. Rheagan Harvel followed with 10 points.

Kaylee Shelton and Riley Terry each had six points for Hartselle.
