Lorene Johnson Holladay

Funeral for Lorene Johnson Holladay, 84, of Danville was Fri., Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. at Friendship South of Danville with the Rev. Wayne Penn and Bro. Mickey Dalrymple officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery (South of Danville).

Mrs. Holladay died Wed., Dec. 5, 2012, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 13, 1928, in Lawrence County to Floyd Willie Looney and Edna (Ledlow) Looney. Mrs. Holladay was a member of the Red Hats of Hartselle, a member of the Hartselle Senior Circle and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She worked for 36 years for the Lawrence County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alic Almon Johnson; her parents; a daughter, Trannie Sandusky; and a grandson, Kris Johnson.

She is survived by four sons, James Johnson and wife Lynn and Gary Johnson and wife Evelyn, Randy Johnson and wife Sheila and Roy Johnson and wife Tresia, all of Danville; a sister, Margie Buttons of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
