Community Calendar for Dec. 12

Dec. 13

Hartselle Kiwanis Club and Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will have their annual Hartselle Christmas Parade Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. The theme of the parade is “Christmas Melodies.”

Hartselle High School’s Choir will have a Christmas Concert Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

Morgan County Board of Education will have its regular meeting Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the central office.

Barkley Bridge Elementary School’s Spelling Bee will be held on Thur., Dec. 13. Fourth and fifth graders will participate. The winner will go on to participate in the Morgan County Spelling Bee.

Dec. 14

Mature Life, Parkway and Hartselle campus members, will have their Breakfast Club Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m. at IHOP in Decatur.

Kick off the holidays with style and help support programs at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Get your tickets to the 28th Annual Gala now! The Gala will be held on Friday, December 14, at Ingalls Harbor Pavilion in Decatur. The black-tie evening begins with a cocktail hour and then a seated dinner. Live music, dancing and cash bar will follow. Tickets are $350 per couple. For an invitation, please contact Decatur Morgan Foundation at 256-341-2187.

The Falkville High School band will have its Christmas concert on Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.

Dec. 15

Decatur Animal Services will have its Home for the Holidays Christmas Open House on Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be door prizes, refreshments, gifts for all pet lovers and $25 off all adoptions.

Dec. 17

Bosom Buddies Support Group offers support to individuals affected by breast cancer. The group will hold its next meeting on Monday, December 17, at 6 p.m. in Cullman Regional Medical Center’s Ave Maria Room in the Community Education Center located in Professional Office Building 2 (1912 AL Highway 157, POB 2, Cullman, AL 35058).

Dec. 18

Hartselle City Council has rescheduled its regular meeting to Dec. 18.

The Hartselle Planning Commission Technical review will be Dec. 18 at 10 a.m.

Dec. 21

Barkley Bridge Elementary has announced its Christmas party schedule for Fri., Dec. 21. They are as follows: 8-8:45 a.m. – K and third grade parties, 9-9:45 a.m. – grades 2 and 4 parties, 10-10:45 a.m. – grades 1 and 5 parties. A show from the BB Glee Club will be at 10:50 a.m. in the gym. Parents of the performers in the show are invited to attend. This performance it not open to all parents. School dismisses at 11:45 a.m. No extended day programs. Teachers stay for a professional development and collaboration day.

Dec. 28

Jan. 7

The Hartselle Board of Zoning Adjustment will meet Jan. 7 at 5 p.m. Pending applications close at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 28.

Jan. 8

Hartselle Planning Commission will meet Jan. 8 at 8 a.m.

CBD Design Review Board will meet Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. Pending applications close at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 28.

Jan. 14

Falkville Public Library will host computer classes for interested individuals, ages 13 and up, beginning Jan. 14, 2013. Instruction in Microsoft Word and Excel will be offered. Our goal is to provide training for those who want to learn these two programs but are unable to attend classes to do so. An information session will be offered on Dec. 27.
