Barbara A. Gillespie

Funeral for Barbara A. Gillespie, 68, of Danville was Fri., Dec. 21, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Frank Proctor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery in Speake. Visitation will be Thur., Dec. 20, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gillespie died Wed., Dec. 19, 2012, at Lawrence County Medical Center. She was born Sept. 2, 1944, in Morgan County to J.D. Brown and Ora Lee Hill Brown. She was a longtime member of Southwest Baptist Church in Hartselle and Wear Baptist Church in Moulton. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby L. Gllespie of Danville; a son, Christopher L. Gillespie and wife Karen of Gardendale; her mother, Ora Lee Hill Brown of Danville; a sister, Faye Alexander of Bridgeport; and two grandchildren, Noah Gillespie and Kira Gillespie.

Pallbearers will be Gayno Gillespie, O.Z. Gillespie, Billy Gillespie, Kenny Gillespie, Ronnie Hambrick and Victor Millwood.

The family thanks Hospice of North Alabama, River City Care & Rehab and her beloved niece, Margaret Taylor and husband Tommy Teague.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
