Mildred Lewis Phillips

Funeral for Mildred Lewis Phillips, 84, of Decatur will be Fri., Dec. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eric Mattox officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Dec. 21 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Phillips died on Wed., Dec.19, 2012, at her residence. She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Morgan County to George Franklin Lewis and Vera Mae Armstrong Lewis. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, George “Oak” Lewis, James “Bud” Lewis, Charles “Hogeye” Lewis, Mason Lewis, Claude “Fimp” Franklin Lewis and Billy Lewis; one sister, Nannie Fay Lewis Roper; and one daughter, Deborah Ann White.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Phillips and wife Vaunda Legg of Decatur; two brothers, T.W. Lewis of Danville and Samuel E. Lewis of Priceville; one sister, Joyce Ann Lewis Burns of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, Matthew B. Phillips, Emily Phillips Guild, Preston Tate White and Melia Shea White; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Guild and Hayden Taylor Guild.

Pallbearers will be family members.
