Sally Price Smith

Funeral for Sally Price Smith, 94, of Hartselle will be Fri., Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Greene officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Dec. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith died Tues., Dec. 18, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born May 15, 1918, in Morgan County to Asbury Lawrence and Ellen Anders Lawrence. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church in Falkville. She was a homemaker and loved gospel music, playing guitar and singing with her brother. She also loved gardening and animals. She was the “best mother ever as well as a very warm, loving, and caring mother-in-law and grandmother.”

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Douglas G. Prince and Guy H. Smith and six brothers, Marion Lawrence, Hobert Lawrence, Melvin “Monk” Lawrence, Brasher Lawrence, Gurney Lawrence and Lelton Lawrence.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Jane Prince Cole and husband the Rev. David M. Cole; a stepson, Junior Lyle Prince; two grandchildren, Eric Cole and Daniel Cole (USAF); three step-grandchildren, Doris Edwards, Mark Prince, and Karen Edwards; one great grandchild, Grant Cole three step-grandchildren, Doris Edwards, Mark Prince, and Karen Edwards; one great-grandchild, Grant Cole.

Pallbearers will be Eric Cole, Daniel Cole, Denny H. Lawrence, Kenneth Vinzant, Jason Vinzant and Travis Hulsey.
