Shady Grove Baptist sends 554 Christmas shoeboxes

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church collected items for 554 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes this year. The shoeboxes were delivered to St. Luke’s Methodist Church on Dec. 17 by the youth of Shady Grove Baptist Church..

Many thanks to all who helped by making donations, helped with the packing of the shoeboxes and everyone who helped pay for the postage.

Special thanks also go out to the parents of the youth, to the M&M’s group, to Monica Doherty, Mary Terry, Kelly McLamb and everyone who helped to support the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box program this year.

Special congratulations go out this week to Dale and Hannah Burch on the birth of their daughter, Novalee Claire Burch. who was born on Nov. 6, weighing six pounds and 15 ounces. Claire’s proud grandparents are Hank and Holly Little and Dale and Tammy Burch. Her proud great-grandparents are Clyde and Lavonia Gillott, Ruth Burch and Louie and Judy Little.

Special happy birthday wishes go out this week to, Paul Martin and Buddy Lacy, both on Dec. 25; Jordan Morgan and Jacob Palmer, both on Dec. 28; Tucker Boyd, Jennifer Jones and Olivia McCleskey, all on Dec. 29; and Frances Morgan on Dec. 30.

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church remember in loving memory this week: Ralph Harold Tate, Oct. 1, 1943, to Nov. 7, 2012; James Sevier Alexander, Dec. 5, 1985, to May 2, 2001; Maygan LeAnn Lacy, Dec. 18, 2001, to Aug. 10, 2003; and William “Bud” Sybert, Dec. 20, 1920, to Jan. 29, 1999.

Congratulations and best wishes go out this week to Brandon and Sara Cornelius Turrentine who were united in marriage by Bro. Tom Campbell on Nov. 23.
