Tammy Barnett Hampton was arrested by officers of the Morgan County Drug Task Force on Dec. 29 and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Sheriff Ana Franklin reported that deputies stopped the suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Hwy. 67 and Perry Ave. for a traffic violation While searching the vehicle they discovered a syringe full of blood and methamphetamine.

They also discovered a large amount of meth on Hampton, the value of which was determined to be more than $500.

Hampton was remanded to the County Jail.
