HHS Interact Club collects toys for NCC
Hartselle High School Interact Club collected more than 500 toys and stocking stuffer items for its Christmas service project.
Students collected the items beginning over the Thanksgiving break and continued for the next three weeks.
Jan Walker’s American Folklore class, along with Nanette Edde’s Parenting and Fashion Design classes contributed to the project by creating 500 handmade Santa gift tags.
These items were donated to the Neighborhood Christian Center in Decatur for its annual toy store.
The Christmas Toy Store is for individuals or families that are unable to purchase Christmas presents for their children.
In order for their children to have gifts from their own families under the Christmas tree, NCC sets up a toy store in December where parents can come by and pick out toys or gift items for their children.
Interact Club is a service club comprised of only juniors and seniors. The club is sponsored by Hartselle City Rotary Club. Anita Buckley is the liaison between the Hartselle High and the Rotary Club.
Interact Club sponsors are Linda Roberts, Jan Walker and Kenny Lopez.
