The Austin American Statesman newspaper in Austin, Texas, has announced that Jackie Stone of Austin is the new editor of Social Media, which includes online, Facebook and Twitter.

Stone previously worked for Gannett Newspapers in Appleton, Wis., and Green Bay, Wis. The Austin Post hired her to report on the Texas Legislature during the 2009 legislative session. Recently, she had been a reporter and writer for the online publication Austin Post.

Stone graduated from the University of Texas and was the Editor of “The Daily Texan”.

Stone’s grandparents are Scott and Marguerite Stone of Decatur.
