Mom charged with having meth around kids
A Falkville mother is facing charges of methamphetamine possession and child endangerment after an investigation of drug activity at her home Wednesday night.
Shalauna Collier was arrested and charged with the unlawful possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, drug endangerment of a child and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held that Morgan County Jail on a $5,300 bond.
Sheriff Ana Franklin said the Morgan County Drug Task Force received information about possible drug activity at 273 Mill Creek Road in Falkville.
During the search Jan. 9, agents located several drug paraphernalia items and methamphetamine inside the residence. Agents observed prescription drugs lying on the kitchen table.
Officers also indicated that an 8-year-old and a 17-year-old were both living at the residence. Drug paraphernalia and meth were located in the bathroom adjacent to 8-year-old’s bedroom.
Morgan County DHR was notified and the children were placed in the care of their grandmother. DHR will be doing a follow up investigation on the children.
