A white male fled in a vehicle after robbing the West Mart convenience store on West Main Street in Hartselle of an undisclosed amount of cash this morning.

The man entered the store at approximately 10:35 a.m., flashed a knife and ordered the store clerk to hand over money from the cash register. When she complied, he took the money and fled from the store, according to Hartselle Police Investigator Lt. Justin Barley.

Barley said the suspect was wearing a camouflaged jacket and had his face covered with a white bandana.

“We’re pursuing a lead that may reveal the make and model of the getaway car,” he added.

The robbery remains under investigation.
