Wrestling gets two dual wins
Hartselle won two duals during a tri-meet at home Thursday night.
The Tigers defeated Lee-Huntsville 60-24 and also took down Athens 43-24.
Wrestling coach Matt Watson said he felt the duals went well, but he’s hoping his team used the meet to prepare for this weekend’s Arab Tournament beginning this afternoon.

“We’re going to see a lot of wrestlers who will be in our section tournament later this season,” Watson said. “It’s a very important tournament for our team just to see where we are and what we need to work as our section meet approaches.”
Watson said he has a number of wrestlers who have stepped up this season. That includes guys like Logan Smith, Clint Bender, David Dunford and Oliver Duncan.
“We’re minus a 106-pound wrestler, but we have a great bunch of guys who have come out this year,” Watson said. “We’re trying to get Hartselle back to where it was in wrestling.”
