1-3 inches of snow predicted tomorrow
A winter storm watch has been issued for Morgan County beginning late Wednesday and continuing through Thursday afternoon as one to three inches of snow is expected to fall.
According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, rain is expected to change to snow overnight, with it being all snow by 9 a.m. Thursday.
The weather service is also predicting the formation of ice on elevated surfaces and in the higher terrain of the area, as cold air rushes across the region by early Thursday morning.
Accumulations of one to three inches are possible.. Residual water on exposed surfaces could freeze before the snow begins.
While snow accumulations are expected mainly on grassy areas, ice or snow accumulations could occur on elevated roads and in the higher terrain, causing hazardous driving conditions.
