Falkville sweeps Addison in area play

Falkville’s boys and girls basketball teams both secured wins against the Addison Bulldogs on Tuesday night in a key area contest.

The Lady Devils won big 72-32, maintaining the winning steak and improving to 16-1 on the season.

Leading 33-15 at halftime, Falkville remained consistent and allowed seven players to add the to high scoring margin; five finishing in double digits.

Sydney Moore led the scoring with 16 points, three of them were 3-pointers. Emily Mickelson came up with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Makenzie Smith, Bailey Anders, and Autumn Eddy, all of whom are freshmen, each added 11 points. Patricia Kilgore finished with six points and Katelyn Boyer added a three-pointer.

The varsity boys (7-8) also finished with a win 62-45 over Addison.

Leading the Blue Devils with a double-double was Aaron Estes with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Trevor Blackwood hit a pair of 3-pointers and managed 11 points on the night. Canaan Smith had 10 points and six rebounds. Nate Drinkard had eight points. Travis Cole managed five and both Clay Austill and Hayden Blevins added four points.

Falkville will play at Decatur Heritage on Friday.
