Funeral for Elbert Wayne Jackson, 75, of Jemison, was Fri., Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kris Wood officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.

Mr. Jackson died on Wed., Jan. 16, 2013 at UAB’s Pallative Care Unit. He was born May 10, 1937, in Jefferson County to Truman Jackson and Catherine Moon Jackson. Mr. Jackson formerly worked in Maintenance at Monsanto. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by Katie Jackson of Decatur; a son, Chuck Jackson, of Decatur; three daughters, Kelly Wood and husband Kris of Thorsby; Michelle Jones, and husband Allan of Trinity; Kristy Whitt, and husband Steve, of Decatur; four brothers, Ralph Jackson, and Jerry Jackson of Hartselle, Loyd Jackson, of Talladega and Bobby Jackson, of Decatur; a sister, Carolyn Watson, of Decatur; five grandchildren, and two step grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
