Funeral for Charley D. Alexander, 80, of Eva, will be Tues., Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Marvin “Sue” Gillispie officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in the Union Hill cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Alexander died on Sat., Jan. 19, 2013 at his home. He was born on Nov. 5, 1932 in Eva to Samuel Clarence Alexander and Pearlie Mae Tomlin Alexander. He retired from Monsanto after 27 years of service. Charley loved his family, but his greatest joy of the past few years was watching his great-grandchildren play. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Euel Alexander and two sisters, Lovie Roberts and Clarrene Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bessie Lee Smith Alexander; two sons, Ronny D. Alexander and wife Brenda and Charley Scott Alexander and wife Patti; a daughter, Annette Alexander Frost and husband Roger; two brothers, Cleo Alexander and Hollis Alexander, both of Eva; two sisters, Jewel Nelson of Eva and Audrey Holmes of Hueytown; six grandsons, Thomas Alexander and wife Brittany of Hartselle and Eric Alexander and wife Amy, Craig Alexander and wife Beth, Phillip Frost and wife Nikki, Matthew Frost and Jay Frost, all of Eva; six great-grandchildren, Kelby Alexander, Gracie Alexander, Kaden Alexander, Bryant Alexander, Ella Reece Alexander and Anna Rose Frost; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Alexander’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank the nurses of Omega Hospice for all they did during this difficult time.
