Bert Howard Cody, 47, a registered, convicted sex offender, was arrested and charged with failure to register for a travel permit and registering under a false pretense on Jan 18 and placed in Morgan County jail under a $5,000 bond.

A registered, convicted sex offender is required to register in accordance with statutes of the Sexual Offenders Registration Notification Act, according to Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin.

Special Victims Unit officer Eric Fields found Cody registered with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 6685 Hwy. 31, SW, Lacon Motel, Falkville. Investigators found that Cody had not been staying at his registered address but had been staying at an out-of-town address in Birmingham.

It’s nice to know that authorities keep up with ensuring safety with communities especially with offenders. As a parent, I just don’t want my kids to be around the catch of these offenders. So I thought of looking for a safety protection for my daughter. And thanks to my sister who introduce me with this safety application from SAFEKIDZONE. This is application is a life saving tool that works on mobile phones. It can easily get help in times of real emergency. I can now protect my son even I’m not with him. Check this out:
