Join the debate

I’m an advocate of debates, or at least unscripted debates, about issues.

Each four years, we always see the presidential debates. While the candidates really don’t discuss the issues like they should, I still feel it’s a good chance to see exactly where a candidate stands on each issue.

The Hartselle Enquirer would like to help generate conversation on the issues. There are many ways you can get involved.

First of all, you can send us letters to the editor. You can write us a hand-written note or a typed message and mail it to Editor, Hartselle Enquirer, P.O. Box 929, Hartselle, AL 35640. Or you can email a message to us at news@hartselleenquirer.com.

We also have an online form you can submit through our website, www.hartselleenquirer.com. Please limit your letters to 300 words or less.

If you’d like to have a full op-ed column, then send it to us the same way. Please make sure you include a portrait photo of yourself as well.

You can also comment on our stories on the website and on Facebook. If you’re on our website, just follow a few steps to register for an account and you can start posting comments. Please make sure you abide by our rules, which are available on our website.

Just like us on Facebook and start commenting on our stories, photos and other posts.

You can also reach us on Twitter. Just go to http://twitter.com/hartselleenq and start following us.

There’s so many ways to join the debate. We’d just like to hear your views.

Brent Maze is the managing editor of the Hartselle Enquirer.
