Punkin Center V.F.D. to host Swamp Johns Fundraiser Feb. 12

The Punkin Center Volunteer Fire Dept. will be hosting a Swamp Johns fundraiser on Tues., Feb. 12. The fundraiser will be held at Punkin Center Fire Station #2 and the time will be from 4 to 7 p.m. The price will be $10.00 per plate, and they will have seafood and chicken. All community support will be greatly appreciated,

The proceeds will go to the Punkin Center Volunteer Fire Dept.

The staff, patients and visitors at Summerford Nursing Home really enjoyed having Charles Holladay, Joe Fitzgerald, Vaughan Burden and Pee Wee Murphy to entertain them with wonderful gospel singing on the fourth Sunday in January. in the activity room, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Everyone attending enjoyed the fellowship and good hymn singing.

The members of Falkville United Methodist Church are collecting items for cleaning buckets needed to replenish the Disaster Relief Warehouse in Decatur. Anyone who wishes to contribute cleaning supplies can contact Pastor John Russell at 256-616-3347.

All donations will be appreciated.

The members of Shady Grove Baptist Church express Christian love and heartfelt sympathy to the following families; Charles and June Austin and family in the death of his uncle Vollie Neil; Evon and Macky Vest and family in the death of her cousin, Barbara Gillespie; Tom and Connie Campbell and family in the death of his father, Chester Campbell; Harvey and Pat McCleskey and family in the death of his aunt, Ruby McCleskey Higdon; Mary and Steve Terry and family in the death of her uncle Bob Cole; and also Avis and Rassie Wallace and family in the death of her sister, Lois Movilee Hill Reid.

The members of Falkville First Baptist Church enjoyed hosting the area churches’ Sing- spiration, on Sun., Jan. 27 at 6 p.m.

Everyone enjoyed congregation singing, choirs, solos and duets. and afterwards refreshments were served in the fellowship hall.

The churches represented at the singing were Roundtop Community Church, McKendree United Methodist Church, Falkville United Metho-dist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Pine St. Baptist Church, Victory Fellowship Church, First Faith Church, Fairview Church of God and Piney Grove Christian Church. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening of fellowship.

Gandy’s Cove, Falkville and Ashbury United Methodist Churches have several members on the Honduras Mission Team. Their Mission trip is scheduled for June 5..

The Team members are in need of donations of ‘Anti-Fungal Cream’ for their trip.
