Anthony Dewayne Manigo Jr.

Anthony Dewayne Manigo Jr., 19, of 1060 Mountainview Road was charged with rape first degree. He was indicted by the Morgan County Grand Jury. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

Hartselle Police Investigator Justin Barley said the suspect turned himself into Hartselle Police investigator Shannon Hale.

“The suspect was interviewed at the time, but denied having sexual contact with the victim,” Barley said in a press release. “It was later determined the victim was pregnant and gave birth in 2012. The suspect was identified as the father of the child through DNA analysis.”

According to the press release, the 11-year-old suspect reported in late 2011 that she had a “sexual encounter” with the suspect, who was 18 years old at the time of the incident.
