Danville 4, West Morgan 1
Danville’s softball team used a three-run third inning to defeat West Morgan 4-1 Monday afternoon and extend their winning streak to three games.
Shelby Beck (2-for-3) drove in the first two runs on a one-out single. Callie Ryan (1-for-3) launched a two-out rocket toward right center that just missed clearing the fence, scoring Beck to extend the Hawk lead to 3-0.
West Morgan scored their only run in the fourth inning, but the Hawks got that one back in the bottom of the fifth on a single by Morgan Weatherwax (1-for-3).
Savannah Bolton struck out nine Rebel hitters to earn the win while giving up four singles, no walks and an unearned run.
Danville (3-1) will travel to Brewer Tuesday. JV will play at 4:30 p.m. followed by the varsity.
