Pray for our soldiers’ safe return home and for their families

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church express Christian love and prayers for the following soldiers who are on the church prayer list: Jeff Hartsfield-Afghanistan, Brandon Jones-Iraq, Derek Jones-Marines, Aaron Money-Afghanistan-Jeremy White-Virginia, Jack C. Herbert, John Black, Joseph Hardin-S.W. Asia, Seth Fagan-Marines, Anthony Thomas, Matthew Young, Lee Thompson and Brad Wallace.

I would like to ask all Hartselle Enquirer readers to please pray for peace and the safe return home of all of our soldiers, and may God bless America.

I also ask God’s blessings upon all of the families who have lost loved ones in the war and the families of wounded soldiers.

I just want to say “thank you” to all of our brave young men and women who have fought and are fighting for the United States of America. Without you, we would not have the freedoms that we enjoy.

May we never take these freedoms for granted!

I am proud to be an American and thankful to live in the greatest country in the world! I am the daughter and the granddaughter of a veteran and proud of it!

Heartfelt prayers and get well wishes go out this week to Verna Sandlin Fields of Massey. She was taken to the Cullman Regional Hospital on Mon., Feb. 25, and is in stable condition. She should be able to return home in several days.

Doris Herring of Massey enjoyed hosting a birthday luncheon on Sun., March 3, for her son, Ferrell Anders of Fairhope. His birthday is March 6.

He and his wife Pauline are enjoying visiting with his mom and also visiting with their daughter and her family, Laura Lee and her husband Bryan and their sons, Anders and William, in Florence.

Jessica Raynor and Riley Self are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Kayden James Self. He was born on Feb. 13, 2013, weighed seven pounds, five ounces and was 19 inches long. Kayden’s grandparents are Sabrina and Russell Segars and Paul and Terina Self. Great-grandparents are Dwayne and Alfreda Beckham and Lucy Self and the late James Self.

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church welcome everyone to attend their youth contemporary worship service each Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
