FHS boys win Fairview track meet

Falkville’s boys track team won five events to win the Fairview Invitational Tuesday.

The Blue Devils scoring 230 points, more double the total of second place Fairview (105).

Falkville’s girls team had a narrow second place finish to Cold Springs, as the Eagles won 166.25-153.

Canaan Smith for Falkville grabbed firsts in the javelin and the discus and second in shot put. Travis Cole managed first in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter dash.

Aaron Estes won the 400-meter dash and finished second in the long jump. Alex Tuttle finished second to Estes in the 400-meter dash and won the 800-meter run.

Cade Wilemon finished second in the 1,600-meter run. Austin Wilhite grabbed second in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Blake Bradford grabbed second in the 3,200-meter run while Brian Bradford finished third.

The 4×100-meter relay finished second, members include: Austin Kritner, Bryan White, Travis Cole and Lucas Johnson. The 4×400-meter relay was first, members include: Aaron Estes, Alex Tuttle, Cade Wilemon and Clay Kyle. The 3200 meter relay also won with Brian Bradford, Alex Tuttle, Cade Wilemon and Drake Hamilton being apart of the relay.

For the Lady Devils, Autumn Eddy and Lizzie Davis tied for first in high jump. Eddy also managed third in long jump. Heath Smith finished first in pole vault and fourth in the 200 meter run. Amber Riddle grabbed two first places in the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles, and finished second in the 400 meter dash. Tiana Drinkard grabbed the gold in javelin and finished third in discus. Emily Mickelson grabbed the silver in discus.

Falkville will travel to Corner on Friday for the Corner Invitational.
