Gentle named national Player of the Week

Hartselle graduate Katie Gentle has been named the OC Sports NJCAA softball Division I Player of the Week for March 11-17.

Gentle’s bat propelled the Lions to a 6-1 record in their seven games last week. Batting for a .667 average (14-for-21), the sophomore totaled six doubles and a home run. Gentle brought home 10 runs, scored seven of her own and stole four bases on the week.
Offensively, the No. 10 Lions are led by Gentle’s .583 batting average, 10 doubles and 12 steals this season.
Gentle is a left fielder for Wallace State Community College in Hanceville.
